I tried the pants on when they arrived and they were loose in the waist and legs. I washed them, and now they fit fine in the waist and a little snug in the legs, especially around the ankles. The drawstring in the waist is going to come in handy as they get worn and age. My pants tend to stretch in the waist as they get worn, especially if several days in a row. Im 65", 290lb, and wear a size 40 jeans, so I bought a size 42 based on the reviews I read. Im glad I did. I was concerned about the inseam. but the length of these pants was okay, they fall at the tops of my shoes. After washing, (warm/cold) they shrunk a bit, but not enough to be concerned about. Im wearing them now, and they feel fine. The material is lighter than I was expecting, so these may end up waiting for spring for regular wear. The only thing I dont like so far is the material for the front inside pockets, which feels stiff and rough. Hopefully that will loosen up as the pants age and the pockets get used. Im also noticing that the tag on the inside rear of the waistband scratches my back a bit as I move. That may have to go at some point. I will update this review as I wear the pants and report any problems or things I like.

This review is a complaint. About these pants, and every other pants that don’t accurately provide inseam measurements. About reviews of these pants and every other review that describe fit, but not for the size of the purchased item or the wearer. So this is also a plea to reviewers to provide such information. On to my review... The pants: Size 40, color Apricot, 100% cotton, Made in China, label says ‘Matchstick’ The wearer: 6’2”, inseam 34” (formerly 36” but i’m shrinking I guess), waist 40” (formerly 36” but expanding from 190lbs to 220+). They’re a little loose in the waist, but haven’t been washed in hot water or been through the dryer. The length is about what a 34” inseam would be. At the bottom the leg opening is about 15” which I consider slightly tapered. I like them wider, but I guess current style leans toward slimmer (judging from seeing men in suits with pants that look more like capri pants that are 2” too short). These narrow about an inch from the knees down (see photo). Pocket closures are with large buttons. Counting the spare they give you and the waist, you’ve got 12. The ties inside the waistband and ankles are not useful. At least to me. You still need a belt (or suspenders; which I’ve moved to, to better keep my pants up without having to wear my pants like Chris Christie). The material is soft and not cheap feeling. If the legs were not tapered below the knees, I’d like these and consider another pair (since longer inseams are not easy to find). But they’re not, so won’t see much use.

I like the heavy cotton material, the design, and the number of pockets. The length is just right for me. Pants that are 32 x 30 usually fit me just fine. The sizing chart indicated that M/30 pants would have a waist measurement of 32 1/2 to 33 inches, so I thought it would fit. Instead the waist is much too small, so they must be returned. If I get a larger size, the inseam will be too long. Phooey!

The color was fairly accurate (I bought the "mud" color), and the fabric was reasonably light, and I like the design / style in general. Unfortunately they are very high waisted pants so if you have a gut / beer belly like me, and you position the waistband under the belly, then the crotch is somewhere near the knees. I wanted loose cargo pants to allow more freedom of movement than typical jeans, but with the low crotch position it binds the thighs ... cant take large strides or spread your legs very much. The only other way to wear them would be to pull the waist up over the belly, which in fact is horribly uncomfortable and ridiculous looking at the same time. I honestly dont understand why so few pants makers offer "low rise" pants. My waist is not at my belly button, but almost all pants are cut so that if you position the waistband at your natural physical waist, then the crotch is dangling somewhere near the knees. I still gave these pants 4 stars for the basic quality and knowing theyll fit some people just fine. But they dont fit me.

I always have bad allergies in the spring after yardwork and gardening, and this year I got into some poison sumac that made life miserable for a week. So I jumped on Amazon looking for full length clothing that I could wear for outdoor work without dying in the hot Texas summer sun. So far I love these pants, they are very light and seem to breathe pretty well. They are a baggy fit on me (Im 5-8", 155 pounds and ordered the 32 waist) but thats fine because I can squat, stretch and move around with ease, no binding at all. They ran very long on me but the ankle ties took care of that issue. The tie at the waist works great, Ive had no need for a belt with these. I wouldnt wear these out on the town but they are perfect for yardwork.
