I ordered the charcoal versions of the Combs Nylon Combat Boots. The boots arrived quickly, and are of very high quality construction. The nylon is very tough, yet very flexible and gives the foot a full range of motion when kneeling or crouched. The tread has performed very well on continually icy grounds in my area where the temperature recently has averaged at 11 degrees. The boots, much to my surprise, have kept my feet very warm in these temperatures even with cotton athletic socks. So much so that my feet are usually sweating after being outside for a while. My only complaint with these boots was that they were a tad large. I usually wear a size 12 in Mens shoes, and I read conflicting information about Dr Martens sizing, so I just ordered my usual shoe size and Ive got about half to three quarters of an inch from my toes to the end of the boot. When tied firmly this extra space feels fine. I decided not to try to return them for a different size because I figured if I ever had to wear thick wool socks with them, Id have adequate space in the toe without being too cramped, plus they were very comfortable to wear as they are. One last note, this has nothing to do with the quality and comfort of the boot: This is the first pair of Dr Martens Ive ever had so I cant compare them to any others, but Im not very sure what the bouncing sole that I see advertised on the tags at the back of the boot is about, I notice no bouncing sensation. They feel like normal shoe/boot soles to me.

Totally fits as expected but I know how to size traditional docs. Zero breaking since they are a solid canvas material. The grey colored ones are the ones I ment to buy but these are bad ass so winner winner chicken dinner... a coworker has a pair and a year later they still look new doing a teamster job so they hold up. His are the grey type ones so make no mistake they maybe canvas but they are real world durable

Havent had a pair of Dr.Martens for quite some time and I wanted breathable boots. After reading the reviews and I really liked the look of these boots, I tried to figure out the size. I am a 10 in Vans and Nikes so as suggested, I went one size down and ordered a UK 9. Must say, they are still a bit too big but manageable. Love the look with jeans but also with some nice shorts. They are certainly a little stiff and will.need some break in time. Overall super happy with them

As a respiratory therapist I knock out 4-9 miles on hard hospital floors per night and Docs are the best for the job. They are light, durable, and comfortable. I had hoped the canvas would breathe a bit better but its similar to the leather uppers. My only surprise with this boot is that the top was really stiff and rubbed my calf sore but we got used to each other after about a week. Eighty miles in the last month and they still look new so I suspect they would hold up regardless of where you wear them.
