Usually, I love Merrell Hiking boots. With my last pair I hiked the grand canyon three times! This pair has been a tremendous disappointment only because after 3 weeks of daily use as a K9 Handler the right boot inside toe started ripping, stitching is coming out and had to use Shoe Goo to repair them. These should come with Shoe Goo to repair the stitching. These are my most comfortable boots and truly waterproof. My last pair were half this price and lasted three years of hiking trips. Too bad they dont make the right boot as well as they do the left boot. Im going to recommend they sell these boots separately. I know the issue is not width because these are wide. For Merrell boots Id recommend going cheap if for daily wear, the more costly dont seem to equal better quality. For me these were a waste of money! Theyre great while they last - about two months - at this rate if I kept buying these Merrells new, it would cost me about $800 a year!

UPDATE: Still a great hiking boot! I wear them every day. I dropped a star for my one and only complaint. If the temperature is 60 or above your feet will get very hot. So these are better suited for cooler weather. Other than that, I still highly recommend these boots! I researched heavily before making a decision on these hiking boots. I was looking for comfort, lightweight, and a boot I could go hiking in or just wear around when the weather is rainy/snowy/icey and not have sore feet. Every hiking boot article I read had Merrell Moab boots somewhere on their list of "best hiking boots". So I ordered a pair. Right out of the box these boots are super comfortable on my feet! No breaking in period necessary. They fit true to my foot size (11 US). Ive only walked a few miles in them, but so far Im impressed. As an added bonus, they also have lots of arch support. I have high arches in my feet and anyone who also has medium-high arches knows how difficult it is to any footwear that supports those types of feet.

Probably the best money Ive ever spent on footwear. I am a big guy -- 61 and over 250 lb. I bought these because five years ago I twisted my ankle badly while hiking and I wanted something with good ankle support. I also didnt want to buy a piece of junk that would fall apart quickly. My Merrell boots have fantastic grip on rocks and boulders. They are sturdy and honestly they give me an incredible amount of confidence with every step. I dont fear another twisted ankle any more. Plus, they are lightweight and very comfortable. I dont know to what extent they are waterproof as I have not submerged them. The one downside is that they are not as breathable as I expected. I wear cotton socks and maybe thats a bigger problem. I still need to try Wool hiking socks. Overall I am thrilled with my purchase and I would recommend them to a friend.

first time in a McDonalds i slid across the floor and dropped my coffee, first time stepping on a rock that i step on to cross a creek i slipped, inclined concrete ramp up parking garage impossible to climb had to take stairs this is the slipperiest sole i have ever witnessed even going for a slow jog a few hours after a light rain and good luck not busting your ass, road, rocks, concrete, hardwood, store floors very slippery although the first inch is waterproof the top mesh sides a tongue are very absorbent and if splashed will take well over 4 hours to dry indoors if theres no fan or other active drying, you simply cant count on these i was trying to save 20 or 30 bucks on no getting Solomons mid i had a similar vibram soled shoe i had before and i liked it so i bought online and am very disappointed although i love the style and the wide size if your so inclined to spending allot of time in a casual environment on a carpeted floor then go for it but if you want to use these for running a path or sunning errands taking a dog for a walk your are out of luck

My friends all said I should get a pair that merrill is great and get the MOABs. Its been 5 weeks. The fit was pretty good. Left boot a little tight. Maybe I got a bad pair but the left boot leaked. The back of the heal inside material bunched up sliding foot in and out. I did feel like it hugged my feet pretty well but after wearing them I got knee pain in my right leg and back and hip pains. I thought it was just age but I switched to a new pair of sneakers yesterday and the pains are gone. So there is something about these boots that were not right for me. They did feel comfortable wearing them but something is off about them. I go through about 8 -12 pairs of sneakers and hiking boots a year.
