The glasses never quite fit correctly but the price was consistent with Ray Ban and I needed a new pair of sunglasses. I recently went to an authorized Ray Ban dealer and bought a second pair. I had the owner of the store look at my old pair. He did not think they were authentic, perhaps very good knock offs. Now with a new pair the differences are obvious. The font is different on the inscritiptions, the hinges and body are flat and the color of the glass is a shade different.

For starters, allow me to make an important statement for those curious as to whether these sunglasses are authentic Ray-Bans. The unequivocal answer is YES! I tried on the exact same pair in Macys in their Sunglass Hut department prior to ordering these through Amazon. Not only did I save about $50, but received an authentic pair of Ray-Ban RB2140s that no one else has ever worn/tried on. Thats a plus in itself! These classic Ray-Ban sunglasses are off the chain! True G-15 glass lenses, classic tortoise shell frame thats solid, sturdy with a fit thats indicative of a brand new pair of never-worn sunglasses. Yes, Im impressed!

I ordered the matte black finish and got the polished one instead. This is truly a first world problem I never thought I would I have. I was pretty disappointed when I saw them because my regular glasses are matte black but the new wayfarer style so i wanted these frames to be used as my new prescription glasses but with transitional lenses and I thought meh my actual glasses frames are matte black so did I really need two pairs of Ray-bans matte finish?

Im going to keep these shades, as they look great, the lenses are clean and unscratched, and they fit perfectly. But I bought them thinking I was getting a brand new pair. Clearly these were previously used, set on display and handled a lot, or badly packaged, because there are a number of minor scuffs on the arms around the curves for the ears. Also, the hinges are solid except for a tiny fraction of the range of extension just prior to being fully extended; so there is just a tiny amount of play in the arms prior to being fully extended. This doesnt affect fit, as the shape of the wayfarer plastic is designed to prevent overextended arms, and the hingers are still tight, but it does make the hinges seem a little less than perfect, which is what I expect in a brand new pair of Ray Bans. Overall, Im satisfied with this purchase given the great price, but just barely.

My girlfriend wanted a pair of Wayfarers for Christmas, but they cost $200 at the mall, so I decided to check them out on Amazon. At first, I was skeptical because the price was so low, and there were a couple negative reviews with people getting counterfeits. However, because most people were posting positive reviews, and also because Amazon was offering free returns on purchases they verify, I decided to go for it. Worst-case scenario, theyd be counterfeit and I could get my money back. I ordered a pair of Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Sunglasses - Tortoise/Crystal Brown Polarized - 50mm lenses, from the seller GUNGLASSESLAND, which was verified by Amazon. Glasses were exactly what she wanted, and genuine. Passed all the tests - etching on the lens, seven-part hinge, proper case cloth and literature, LCD screen test. She is 55" and the 50mm lens size was right, although we had to get the frame adjusted to fit her head a bit tighter (they did it at the mall for free). The best part? She believes that I got her a $200 gift, when I really paid close to half that. Dont be afraid of the negative reviews. As I said, as long as you make a verified purchase, worst case scenario you get a full refund and youre back where you started. Go for it and enjoy!
