I ordered these jeans three times in different sizes and I finally have my correct size. For the Luck Out West color they definitely run large and you should order smaller. I’m assuming different colors have different fabrics which contribute to varying sizes I own in Levi’s jeans. These jeans run large because the material is very stretchy. Also the stretchy material is so comfy! They are the most comfortable jeans I own, I can sit criss-cross no problem! I’m 5’10” and have 40” hips and I first pair I ordered was 29 (R) and they were way too loose and very short (which usually I don’t mind ankle pants, but these ones have a tiny flare and they look awkward if they are short). Next I ordered a 28 (L) and length wise they were great but still too loose. So the third time I ordered 27 (L) and they are still a relaxed fit but perfect for me (from the thigh I can stretch the material out about two inches and about 1.5 inches from the waist. Also for those concerned with authenticity. When you order from third party sellers you are risking getting fake Levi’s. Buy jeans that say shipped and sold my Amazon and you will get real Levi’s :)

My usual rule is to not buy jeans online. Jeans are something you usually have to try on. So I was prepared to have to return these, particularly since Ive not in the past been fond of mid-rise jeans. These, however, are almost perfect. They have a nice amount of stretch, so theyre very, very comfortable. They are highly flattering. Theyre nice enough to wear with dressy shoes or boots, nice top, and good jewelry for my job (which is what I was looking for since I despise wearing slacks and dresses). The only quibble I have with these jeans is that the front pockets are extremely shallow and cant hold things like my car keys, and they have a tendency to come untucked. In the grand scheme of things, however, I dont consider it a deal-breaker. The weight of the material on the jeans seems to be such that theyll be durable (particularly since they wont be subjected to rough use), and I may simply put a couple of stitches through the front pockets to secure them and use the quite sturdy belt loops to hold my keys when necessary, instead. These jeans make me so happy that theyre worth mending or making minor alterations. In short, I absolutely love these things. I ended up buying two pairs in this color, and four other pairs in three more colors, all of which fit perfectly. I was able to weed out a bunch of pairs of jeans that I wasnt terribly fond of and I drastically simplified my wardrobe just because my six new pairs of comfortable awesome-looking jeans that fit perfectly worked out.

Be warned! I have ordered about 10 pairs of Afternoon Sun trying to get one that is actually Mid Rise Skinny style. Someone (and Im going to say a distributor since Ive ordered from more than one source) is passing off this color from old 524 stock. Even the tags say 524. That part is being covered over with a sticker and the red tag in the back stating the style is being removed on the ones from Amazon. Some retailers dont even bother at all. 524s are LOW RISE and I couldnt even get them past my hips. I have Indigo Devotion, Blue Dream and Lightning Trail, they all fit just fine. I found 2 pairs of Afternoon Sun labeled properly at K and sure enough, they fit just fine! So if you like the waist of your jeans bikini style, this particular color may be for you.

You have to look at the fiber content of each color of these jeans. I chose one that has less cotton, and therefore is much more giving. The Luck Out West has a lower cotton ratio, so it really does allow you more room for movement. I have a large stomach and slimmer hips/legs, and these jeans were perfect. Unfortunately I recently gained weight, and needed something I didnt have to squeeze into, and these are perfect. I worried that the hips on the size 33 would billow out, or the legs would be cut too large, but they were just right, and I am thrilled. Most pants when they hit size 14 or 16 will end up having too much room in those areas, and cut you around the middle. These dont. Perfect if you have more belly fat than leg/butt fat. Best online clothing purchase I ever made as far as fit goes. These probably (?) adjust for many different body types, except those with tiny waists.

I wanted to replace a pair of mid rise skinny jeans I purchased a few years ago. Loved them, and they fit perfectly. Unfortunately, the new mid-rise skinnies are not the same cut. These fit like leggings, with the bottoms hugging the ankles. If you like jean leggings, then go for it. I wanted jeans with a narrow bottom, not jean leggings.
