This is an update to my earlier review. I returned the first pair and then also the replacement pair i received because they were uncomfortable and both pairs had only half of an insole. I am 74 years old, and in all my life and all the pairs of shoes I’ve ever worn, there has never been 1/2 of an insole. The front part of the shoe under the ball of your foot and your toes is just raw shoe bottom. I am still wearing the same style of Rockport shoes as these, that I bought 15 years ago, and they have a full insole and they have always been comfortable. I have no idea what Rockport has done to this latest manufacturing version, but it slips up and down on the heel being too loose, and the 1/2 insole construction is absolutely ridiculous. Very uncomfortable shoes. Previous Review: I dont know if the pair I got is defective or if Rockport makes them like this now. The inside of these shoes have only half of an insole...from the heel to the middle of the arch area. See the attached picture. There is no leather insole under your toes. I have never seen a pair of shoes like this in my life. I called Rockport 3 times over a 2 week period, trying to get them to do something for me, and their customer service did not respond. Finally, all they said was to return them to Amazon. Buyer beware. These are VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. I couldnt keep them on my feet for longer than a minute. I am going to ask for a replacement pair assuming that this pair is defective and that they all are not made this way. I will update my review after I get them. I have worn MANY pairs of Rockport shoes over the years and have usually loved them...but these are pitiful.

Having worn a number of Sperry and LL Bean boat shoes in the past, I can honestly say this is my new all-time favorite pair. I was looking for a pair of boat shoes with that classic look (not the modern, overdone ones like the Sperry Billfish), but with a comfortable sole that I can stand/walk all day in. To top it off, I have rather wide feet, so finding a perfect fit is never easy. These Perths have an incredibly comfortable sole with decent arch support. I can wear them at my standing desk all day and not feel flat-footed or sore in the heels after work, and can walk around town without feeling like Im barefoot. The leather is of very good quality, and it took very little time to break them in, even going sockless my first time wearing them. Im a true fan now, and will absolutely buy another pair once I wear these out -- which may be a long while, as they seem very sturdy and well constructed.

Have been buying Perth boat shoes for years. I have a wide foot with a high instep and these are comfortable right out of the box

Ive been buying this specific shoe for many years. I know my size. The size I asked for arrived swiftly; however, this time theyre too short for comfort. Someone goofed up (including me for not returning item immediately) in the manufacture of sizing length. May be if I wear them barefoot a great (uncomfortable) deal this summer-- they will stretch some.

Rockport Perths have been my go to work shoe for a long time. Fit and finish are normally excellent and they have proven very durable. One nice thing is that my feet have almost no callus after wearing these for years, as the soft sole and upper seems to have eliminated the tendency my feet had for forming calluses when wearing regular leather hard soled shoes. However, when new, the leather gives off some dye and one should be careful about wearing any light colored socks until the shoes are broken in. Also, I find I need to use foot spray to keep them sweet over time.
