Red is red and not burgundy, wine or maroon. My dress was burgundy and this red wrap did not match with it. However, it looks like the picture and is really quite nice. Its sheer and lightweight and would be perfect for an evening out. It fit me and Im not tiny. Its would be just the right cover up for your shoulders yet since its sheer you can still peek thru. Very nice

Lightweight, beautiful and versatile. I purchased this shawl to wear to a wedding I was attending. It comes beautifully packaged and is a lovely quality. Although it is lightweight it provides just enough warmth and looks very attractive too. The material is very fine and the shawl can fold down to a very slim size. Great for travelling.

This is a pretty deep beige chiffon shawl/scarf. I think of champagne as a little more metallic. Be aware that this is transparent and very lightweight. It will work for some occasions, but it is not a pale golden color. Also, it has no sheen. These are not criticisms, because I will enjoy wearing it to my friends sons wedding and it will look great with my champagne dress. If your definition of champagne is the same of mine though, this is not exactly it although it will go with it.

I got this to wear with a dress for a wedding party during a warm weather (November in Orlando). So it was just what i needed, something to cover a little cleavage on the dress, that didnt make me feel so hot, or had too much fabric, cause the weather was warm. And it was perfect to add the final touch to a summer/spring dress. It would probably go nicely on black dress, however id say its very light for light clothing, just like the photo in the add suggests.
