So Ive been wearing these over a month now. I think they are fantastic. I dont say that a lot about shoes, especially boots since Ive had surgery twice on my right ankle and I am obese. As a result my right ankle is larger than my left ankle. I have trouble finding shoes that accommodate that problem. The left fit perfectly on the first day and the right was slightly. After constantly wearing and putting a stretcher foot in the right boot they fit perfect within 3 days. They are the perfect height not going up my calves but about 3" above my ankle. They Nick easily but nothing a little polish doesnt fix.

Hard to review these boots as I love the soles and the footbed of these boots! That part of the boot are supportive, comfortable, and I can walk miles in them without pain. However....the shaft..... stiff, abrasive, and horribly uncomfortable. Even after wearing these for several weeks, the pulls on the sides still rub the insides of my calves raw (even with socks!). The stitching has eased a little on my ankles, but the stiff rims and the pulls still really bother me. I would say that I have small ankles and medium sized calves, so this isnt a size issue. I have been tucking my jeans into the inside of the boots to remedy the rubbing issue, but I would have hoped that after breaking these in it would no longer be an issue. I have Justins, Lucchese, Boggs...none of them have this problem. I would say these are my favorite boots if it werent for this problem. If you buy these boots, wear thick, tall socks and be prepared to really work out the stiff tops!

For some reason after about 3 days of wearing them these Ariats started hurt my toe on the left side. I thought maybe my foot move around to much so tried some insoles. That made the left foot better and the right foot worse, so I only have an insole in the left it still annoying to wear for too long. I have just come to deal with it I think it might be because the toe seems like it got a composite plastic to hold it shape. The leather isnt quality like my last pair but you get what you pay for, these are not my favorite shoes anymore but a means to an end. The soles are a soft rubber so they dont last long I bought heel taps to make them last longer but its a month and you can already see wear. I bought these because they had tread which would help me not slip in the wet and snowy weather, hope they last me through the winter.

I was very disappointed with these boots. As soon as I opened the box, I gagged on the chemical smell. The soles, the dye used on the leather, and the cheap, synthetic lining. Ariat has sent most of its manufacturing to China, with bad results. You have to carefully pick through product descriptions to make sure youre getting an all leather boot, without decent quality. Ive worn Ariats for 30 years. Im disappointed they would make such s poor product.

Love, love, love these! My first Ariats. I love the sole, the most, because theres absolutely no way Im slipping in these, on the wet NW grass. I wear an 8, and got an 8 1/2 (just in case), so theyre just a tad big, but that leaves sock room for Winter. An 8 would have been perfect. After theyre broken in a bit (just wore them out to work on the horse field - great for work/comfortable), Im going to add waterproofing. Considering I never wear cowboy boots, and these are my first pair, I have to say Im duly impressed. Well worth the money!
